I have read the below Ethical Behavior Standards policies and agree to follow them while representing PREMIER ATHLETICS for YOUTH DEVELOPMENT as a volunteer or employee.
The right of sustaining human dignity is one of the primary goals of programs run by PREMIER ATHLETICS for YOUTH DEVELOPMENT (PAYD). In that regard, safeguards have been established to ensure that players and volunteers will not be subjected to physical, emotional, sexual, verbal abuse or harassment.
It is essential that players, parents, coaches, and officials receive a copy of the Code of Conduct at the commencement of any season. It must be read, understood and most importantly adhered too.
YOU WILL NOT:
1. Participate in sexual activity with any minor program participant whether consensual or non-consensual.
2. Consume, smoke, or inject any illegal substances prior to, during, or immediately after coming into contact with any children participating in Premier Athletics programming. This also includes medical marijuana.
3. Violate the drug free zone that has been established by PAYD at any or all of their events. This includes being under the influence of any alcoholic beverage.
4. Strike or otherwise physically restrain or restrict the movement of program participants unless essential for their safety and protection. You will notify the Program Director in the latter case.
5. Release any confidential information without a signed permission form.
6. Provide participants with any form of illegal drugs, or any other legal drug, unless authorized to do so.
7. Misrepresent your credentials and provide services that you are not qualified or authorized to provide. (Ex: saying you are EMT certified when you are not.)
8. Be alone with a single child in an isolated situation where you cannot be observed by other participants. The only exception to this would be medical emergencies, in which case another person should be notified.
YOU WILL:
1. Never use negative ridicule or yell at children for making a mistake or not winning.
2. Always operate within the code of conduct, rules and fair spirit of your sport and instruct the kids to do the same.
3. Always ensure that the time kids spend with you as coach is a positive experience. All kids are deserving of equal attention and opportunities.
4. Ensure that sporting equipment and facilities meet safety standards and are appropriate to the age and ability of all players.
5. Display control, respect and professionalism to all involved within the sport. This includes opponents, coaches, officials, administrators, the media, parents and other spectators. Encourage players to do the same, be a great role model.
6. Where appropriate obtain qualifications and keep up to date with the latest coaching practices and the latest principles of growth and development of children.
7. Any physical contact with a child should be appropriate to the situation and necessary for the player's skill development or medical care.
8. Respect the rights of all participants regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.
Violations of the above will result in immediate suspension of the volunteer/employee.
Should the allegations be substantiated, disciplinary procedures will include, but not be restricted to, being permanently banned from inclusion in PAYD or any of its affiliate programs.
